One stitch at a time

So, a few years ago, I was a single girl, who's only love was art.  It seems like AGES ago, but it was only a few years.  My life has completely transformed and filled up with people!  I fell in love, married, and have had 2 children all within the last 5 years.  Randomly, I have flashbacks to my single life and am so glad that I followed my dreams of grad school in art while I could.  I could fully focus on my craft and not worry about every day responsibilities and needs of anyone but myself.  Of course, I LOVE all my boys, and wouldn't trade places with the past, but it got me thinking about adding in some random goals for myself.  Just for fun, no strings attached.  One year, when I was single, I made a scarf for every woman in my family for Christmas.  This was for 2 reasons....1) I lived alone at the time, and if you know me you know that I fill up every second of the day with something, even if it's while trying to relax and 2) I was a waitress and had no money to spend on anyone, thus the cheapest and most thoughtful gifts I could give!  Knitting is one of my loves that I have had to put on hold while having babies, mainly because knitting needles could definitely take a toddler's eye out in 2.5 seconds! So my knitting has been tucked away in a closet for almost 2 years now.  I am determined to use EVERY ball of yarn that I have already purchased before I venture out to the craft store once again.  and YES...this is one of my goals.  Maybe by the end of this year, I will have used every ball of yarn in these 2 boxes, and have many scarves to give away or sell, depending on the interest.  So, if you are interested in purchasing a scarf, just let me know and I will get on it!

The second goal has emerged in this year's award season.  I love the Oscars and watch every year regardless of if I have seen any of the movies nominated.  I mainly love the fashion and love it when they do get it right and the person winning is in honest shock, I love those moments!  So below are all the movies that have won Best Picture since I have been born! Yep, every best picture since 1983.  I have seen some and not seen a lot of them, so one of my random goals is to see every movie that won Best Picture!  Who KNOWS how long this is going to take me, and to be honest, I don't even know where to begin, but I challenge you to look at the list below and see how many you have seen...if we want to call ourselves movie fans, shouldn't we consider the Best?  I have only seen 13!  I better get started, LOL.  I will keep you updated periodically...again, no time frame on this goal...I can't take that kind of pressure. :)
